It's been hard to write about the process of moving. Which is why this post is coming 2 months after the first one. Dave lived in Texas for 2 months with his brother, while I stayed behind in Tulsa. He adjusted to living in a new city, learning the ropes of his new job, and setting new goals that involve us living in Texas. I stayed in Tulsa. Feeling like I was in limbo; dealing with the feelings of trying to figure out who I am without the definition of a job title. Too much time on my hands and trying to wrap my mind around leaving my family, friends, and the city I was raised in.
On Friday we officially moved to Texas. Our apartment is almost setup and I'm learning the ropes of Grapevine, Texas. Which by the way is the self proclaimed Christmas Capital of Texas. Thankfully, I've started developing my bubble in the city and figuring out where several important shops are like groceries, gym, and The Container Store.
The dogs took no time to adjust to apartment living; as far as they're concerned, they receive three times as many walks. We found a nice dog park close by so they'll be visiting that frequently.
I'm still job hunting. I struggle with trying to hold out finding the right job and taking something so I feel like I'm a contributing member of the household. I look forward to meeting new people, even though I have no idea how we're going to achieve that. And while this process hasn't been easy, I know its the right one for us. Dave is doing great with his new job and once I find one, I think we'll slide right into Grapevine, TX life.
WHY ARENT YOU BLOGGING?! Fix that. XOXO!
